The Australian Federal Police and Australian Defence Force Peacekeeping Centre (on behalf of the Australian Defence Force), are pleased to extend a warm invitation to you to attend the 15th IAPTC Annual Conference in Sydney, Australia.

The Conference will provide a unique opportunity for those who work in peacekeeping education, training and operations globally, to come together and discuss key issues relevant to the sector.  In the current global climate, now more than ever, it is essential for the sector to operate in partnership and share information and knowledge.

The theme in 2009 will explore the needs and benefits of collaborative efforts across the military, police and other peacekeeping organisations, by covering issues specific to training, education, multidimensional teams and other operational issues.

Peacekeeping trainers and educators will be able to use this international forum to avoid problems already encountered by others, promote well-tested practices, and provide information to those peacekeeping countries which lack their own training centres. 

This conference, like those before it, will provide valuable information and networking opportunities that will allow centres to minimise duplication in their efforts and lead to further specialisation and sharing of responsibilities.
